Our Breakfast: a success!

"Going back to school helped me overcome some tough challenges and this journey has allowed me to start a new life."

This is the message of one of the first Marichette Foundation scholarship recipients, Ms. Anne-Marie Auffrey, to the participants of the luncheon organized by the Foundation.

"This bursary has taken a big burden off my shoulders, allowing me to concentrate entirely on my studies." Ms. Auffrey emphasized that the gift she received from the Foundation benefits not only one person but society as a whole, since this bursary allows her to give back to her community.

In addition to completing her studies, Ms. Auffrey also volunteers in palliative and prenatal care.

Her testimony demonstrates the great need to facilitate access to education for women and girls in difficult circumstances.

Acadian writer and winner of the Prix Goncourt, Ms. Antonine Maillet was the guest of honour at the breakfast. Ms. Maillet highlighted the contribution of Acadian women to education by reminding the audience that in Acadia, it was women's business to take care of education. "Men make countries and women make people," she said.

Approximately 100 people attended the luncheon organized as part of a fundraising event organized by the Foundation.
