Liliane is a woman of immigrant background who has lived in NB since 2011. After pursuing a career in telecommunications for six years, she made a turning point in 2017 when she decided to pursue studies in the social sciences and graduated with a Bachelor of Social Work degree in 2022. She then worked for the NB Department of Social Development for a year and a half. Currently, Liliane is pursuing a Master’s degree in Social Work at the Université de Moncton. According to Liliane, the decision to change careers was motivated by the need to help others. Nevertheless, during her academic career, she had to face many difficulties, most notably financial ones. Fortunately, thanks to generous donors, Liliane acknowledges that the Marichette bursary “gave her wings” and she was able to successfully complete her undergraduate studies. She therefore wishes to demonstrate her gratitude to the Fondation Marichette by contributing to the Board of Directors as a general advisor.
