The Foundation

The beneficiaries of the Foundation are New Brunswick women wishing to pursue training to enable them to achieve financial independence.

Studies must be done in an accredited French-speaking institution and may include courses leading to a diploma or certificate from a recognized community college or university.

In order to firmly support recipients in their efforts, the Foundation aims to provide appreciable and renewable scholarships for the duration of a study program of five years or less.

The board of directors

All the work of the Marichette Foundation is carried out by a board of directors and numerous volunteers from the community.

Our socially responsible investment policy

The Foundation wants its investments to take into account community values and to be responsible.

The Foundation favors investments which, among other things:

  • respect human rights and the right to equality of men and women;
  • respect the fundamental rights of workers, including the right of association, the right to negotiate and gender equality throughout the supply chain;
  • contribute to sustainable development that respects the environment;
  • respect the rights of indigenous people, in particular that of informed consent during mining or forestry projects who want to establish themselves in their traditional territories and do not seek to circumvent national legislation and pay their share of taxes to ensure quality public services.

The Foundation excludes any investment in the arms, gaming and tobacco industries.

When selecting managers, the Investment Committee and the Board of Directors will first check whether there are socially responsible funds in this asset class and, if so, verify their socially responsible nature.
