Marjolaine Dionne Merlin is an assistant professor and manager of undergraduate nursing student files at the Université de Moncton, Moncton campus. Since obtaining her bachelor’s degree in nursing science in 1999 from the Université de Moncton, she has always had training and learning at heart. From the start of her nursing career, she demonstrated her skills in supervising students in a clinical environment. Her interest in the training of nursing students pushed her to advance research in this discipline, thus completing her doctorate at the Université de Sherbrooke in 2022.
In her role as manager of undergraduate nursing student files, a position she has held since 2009, she makes considerable efforts to support and advise students in their academic career. She has served on numerous committees at the School of Nursing, including scholarships offered to students. Marjolaine also sits on various external committees at the Université de Moncton, including the Canadian Association of Schools of Nursing – Atlantic Region (ACÉSI-RA), where she represents the School of Nursing for the research component.
Marjolaine attaches great importance to her research projects and knowledge transfer. In addition to sharing her knowledge in nursing science and research with baccalaureate students, she supervises master’s students in various research projects.
With her many years of experience in university nursing teaching, her expertise in student file management and research, Marjolaine will make a valuable contribution to the Fondation Marichette.
