Nicole has over 30 years of international experience in the field of human resources. She began her career within the Government of Canada and then moved to the private sector. She has worked and lived in four countries including Canada (Ottawa), Belgium (Antwerp), China (Shanghai) and France (Paris).
Her last assignment was as Executive Vice President of Human Resources with Alcatel-Lucent in Paris, France (14 billion euros and 75,000 employees worldwide) a telecommunications network provider, acquired by Nokia in January 2016. She led the HR function through the most significant cultural, financial and operational transformation in the company’s history. Under her leadership, she was able to modernize the HR function by adapting its model, its systems and its operational processes to the global and diversified nature of the company while reducing its overall costs by 20% and its workforce by 30%.
Upon her return to Canada in 2017, Nicole joined the Board of Directors of the Atlantic Cancer Research Institute (ACRI) as a governing member, then became chair in June 2020, until October 2022. During her mandate, she, among other things, negotiated financial support from the provincial government and replenished the Institute’s coffers by selling – at a very daring price – the fertility clinic attached to the Institute. The profit from this sale ensured a long-term future for the ACRI while providing better accessibility to services for young couples wishing to become parents.
Nicole devotes her time to executive coaching and developing women in leadership.
