With new members on its board of directors, the Marichette Foundation recently held a strategic planning session to identify its objectives for the coming year and ensure they are aligned with its vision and values.
Among its objectives, the board is committed to making efforts to expand the Foundation’s outreach, solidify its donor relations program and increase the support it provides to scholarship recipients during their studies.
The board also recognized the important contribution of the members who retired over the past year, namely former board chair Michèle Caron; Liane Roy, who was chair of the scholarship committee, and Jessica Boutot, who was responsible for investments.
The board welcomed newcomers Marjolaine Dionne Merlin, assistant professor of nursing at the Université de Moncton, scholarships committee; Monique Collette, Regional Vice-President at the National Bank, finances; and Ghislaine Arsenault, vice-president of Communications and Engagement at Vitalité Health Network, responsible for communications. A former scholarship recipient and master’s student in social work at the Université de Moncton, Liliane Dusabe, has also joined the board of directors.
The other members of the board are Nicole Gionet, chair; Mirelle Cyr, vice-chair; Monique Levesque, treasurer; Micheline Melanson, secretary-archivist; and Hélène Branch, community activities.
The meeting also highlighted the achievements of the past year, including a successful fundraising campaign that has helped ensure the Foundation’s sustainability, increased the organization’s visibility and established new partnerships.
The Marichette Foundation was founded in 2016 to facilitate access to education for Francophone women in New Brunswick who have significant financial needs. The Foundation offers scholarships enabling recipients to pursue college or university studies, thus providing them with the tools necessary to help put an end to their precarious financial situation.
